Inusah Ahmed's scam case

Appiah’s death comes at a time when PAC Academy has been in the headlines for troubling reasons. Earlier this month, the club’s owner, Inusah Ahmed, and two others were extradited to the United States to face charges in an alleged $100 million fraud scheme.

On Friday, August 8, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that three Ghanaian nationals had been transferred to the U.S. to answer allegations of participating in a transnational criminal network.

Prosecutors accuse the syndicate of operating romance scams and business email compromise schemes that defrauded victims of over $100 million. This amount translates to more than GHC 1 billion at current exchange rates as of August 9, 2025.

The sudden demise of Stephen Appiah leaves PAC Academy without its top administrator at a critical moment. The club must now navigate leadership changes while addressing the fallout from the extradition of its owner, who owns a lavish mansion in Offinso, Kumasi.

Meanwhile, despite the tragedies, PAC Academy continues its pre-season training for the 2025/26 Ghana FA Division One League. The GFA recently engaged all clubs to address key matters before kickoff.

Inusah Ahmed extradited to the U.S.

YEN.com.gh earlier gave detailed coverage when news broke on Friday, August 8, about the extradition of PAC Academy boss Inusah Ahmed and three others.

Sources indicate the Ghana Football Association is keeping a close eye on developments before issuing an official statement.
