Tottenham might launch another swoop on West Ham United during the summer transfer window, with Lucas Paquetá emerging as their newest attacking midfield target.

After missing out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal, Spurs are reportedly considering alternatives such as Morgan Rogers, Nico Paz, Xavi Simons, Maghnes Akliouche, Bilal El Khannouss, among others.

The Europa League champions have completed deals for seven players in Thomas Frank's debut season after the manager moved from Brentford to succeed Ange Postecoglou, who was relieved of his duties despite Spurs' success against Manchester United in Bilbao.

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus, who shone against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Super Cup, and French forward Mathys Tel headline the new signings, joined by Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich, while Kota Takai remains one for the future. According to ESPN, Tottenham secured Kudus' signature for a reported £55 million from West Ham United while Tel joined for £30 million.

Kudus could help Tottenham sign Paqueta

It is understood that Tottenham are working quickly to add more attacking talents such as Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth and West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta. When it comes to Paquetá, West Ham are unlikely to let another key player join a direct rival, particularly considering their current struggles after conceding 11 goals in just three matches.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that Brazilian may consider leaving the Hammers, as Spurs have reportedly checked on his status in the last 24 hours. With the player cleared of spot-fixing charges, a move to a new club appears to be on the table.

Kudus and Paquetá were reportedly close friends during the Ghanaian’s time at West Ham, and it is believed that Kudus could play a role in persuading him to join Tottenham. Given how excellent Spurs have commenced the new campaign under Frank, Lucas Paqueta may be tempted to join the Champions League participants.

Meanwhile, the former Ajax man Mohammed Kudus has stormed to the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season, putting up impressive performances against Burnley and Manchester City.

Will Rodrygo move to Tottenham?

Apart from Spurs' interest in Lucas Paqueta and Antoine Semenyo, Tottenham have also been linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes but a transfer is unlikely to happen this summer after the winger started the team's La Liga win against Real Oviedo last time out.

According to Wikipedia, the ex-Santos player chipped in 14 goals in 54 matches across all competitions for Real Madrid during the 2024/25 season under former boss Carlo Ancelotti. However, the 24-year-old made most of these appearances from the bench and as such began to push for a move away.
