Dr Bawumia said he considers contesting for the flagbearership of the NPP as a big responsibility, pledging to work hard to ensure the party reclaims political power if elected as the presidential candidate.
"This party has been built on the shoulders of many, many people who have sacrificed their lives. Many who have died to make sure this party came into being. So for all of us who seek to lead the party, we have to understand that there are so many people who worked so hard," he said.
"So many of the elders of today have worked so hard to bring this party thus far, and we have to hold it like an egg. We cannot destroy this party in our generation. We have to build this party and take it from victory to victory, and I want to assure everybody that that is what I'm going to do. Work hard for the NPP for us to return to office in 2029," he further added.
