"From the footage we looked at and then the report of the various persons who were at the post on that day, we did not find any indication of assault. It depends on what you are calling assault. We don't want to go into the ingredients, but we can say that we didn't see any attack on any person, physically, but what we saw was a verbal attack by persons who were at the place on that day," he said.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the incident at Ridge Hospital, officially known as the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, was caused by a clear lack of understanding of emergency protocols by Ralph St Williams and his team.

"They were not happy with some alleged delay because they did not actually understand what was happening. After stabilising this patient, there was a need to continue care, which means that an ambulance would have to come and then transport the person to anywhere where they can get diagnostics done and return the person," he stated.
"At this point, they thought that the person had been abandoned, then they started the agitation, but during our work, we realised that it was just the understanding of the process that did not go well and actually resulted in what we saw," he added.
