Ralph Vs Ridge Hospital: Committee Found No Evidence to Support Dislocated Shoulder Claims by Nurse

A committee established by Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh to investigate an alleged assault on Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a rotation nurse at Ridge Hospital, by social media activist Ralph St. Williams, has submitted its findings.

Speaking at a press conference held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Chairman of the Ridge Hospital Assault Investigative Committee, Dr Lawrence Ofori-Boadu, said the committee's investigation did not find any medical evidence to confirm that Ms Bortei sustained a dislocated shoulder as a result of the alleged assault.

“Medical records show no fracture or bone dislocation in allegedly assaulted Nurse," he said.

Dr Lawrence Ofori-Boadu stated that the nurse reported her injuries a day after the alleged assault, which occurred on August 18, 2025.

However, medical records indicated there were no fractures in her left wrist or dislocation in her right shoulder joint.

The report added that she received treatment, was given pain relief medicine, and was advised to take bed rest.

Psychological support care was also provided following the incident, according to finding from the investigative committee.
