A young Ghanaian girl has left many people feeling sad over how she reacted after checking her 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

A video, apparently shared by her brother on TikTok, captured the deeply moving moment where the young girl was seen on the floor crying uncontrollably as her brother walked in on her.

Her brother, who could be heard in the video, worsened the situation by repeatedly reminding her that her overall BECE score was an aggregate of 37

He then began following her around, this time asking if she would be able to gain admission to any senior high school with such grades.

WAEC releases 2025 BECE results

WAEC announced on August 23, 2025, that provisional results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) had been released.

In a statement, the council said 177 candidates had their entire results cancelled.

Candidates from 119 schools had their subject results cancelled, whereas results from 87 schools have been withheld pending investigations.

WAEC, in its release, warned JHS graduates who sat for the 2025 BECE not to fall prey to fraudsters promising to upgrade their results.

"The Council wishes to caution all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who claim they can upgrade results for a fee. Candidates should note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated," the statement read in part.

At the time of writing this report, the video had racked in over 4,000 likes and 90 comments.

Social media users who took to the comments section of the video consoled the girl, with many urging her to cheer up regardless of the outcome of the exam. Others also urged the girl to resit the exams.

Akosuaangie1 replied:

"My daughter got 14 three years ago, and she nearly cursed WAEC officials. She cried for a week."

boatengishmeal wrote:

"The more they mentioned the number she got, the more she increased the volume of her crying."

KK_MILLIKY opined;

"There is a mistake somewhere; that’s not her name. We know what we’ve written; that’s why we’re crying. We need justice."
