Ralph St Williams has responded after the spokesperson for nurses at Ridge Hospital, Sarah Danquah, accused him of assaulting a pregnant nurse.

The activist has been embroiled in a lengthy saga with Ridge Hospital after he stormed the facility on Sunday, August 17, 2025, seeking medical attention.

He showed up with an injured hand and a companion who was in critical condition.

In a video that has since gone viral and sparked a national debate, St Williams accused the nurses of ignoring his companion despite his perilous condition.

He claimed that when he confronted nurses about why they were not being urgent in carrying out their duties, they told him this was how things were done in Ghana.

The alleged response irritated the activist, who slammed the nurses in a video.

Nurses at the facility later accused him of assaulting them, with one nurse claiming she suffered a dislocated shoulder during the alleged incident.

Ridge nurses PRO details second assault case

Following the incident, the government of Ghana set up a committee to probe the altercation. The findings of the committee were presented on Wednesday, August 27, and appeared to vindicate St Williams.

The report said no evidence was found that the nurse who claimed she was assaulted suffered a dislocated shoulder, and that no footage was found showing the activist assaulting a nurse.

Sarah Danquah, the PRO of the Ridge Nurses Association, disputed the committee’s report in an interview on GhOne TV on Thursday, August 28.

She said they had video evidence of St Williams slapping a pregnant nurse and promised that the footage would be shared with the television channel to be aired for all Ghanaians to view.

St Williams responds to nurse slapping accusation

Following Sarah Danquah’s interview, St Williams went live on Facebook to address the claims.

He explained that during the chaos at Ridge Hospital, he slipped, fell, and his body had brushed a pregnant nurse at the facility.

The Fix the Country activist claimed that he had apologised to the nurse immediately as the contact was accidental.

He stated categorically that no evidence showed him violently slapping a nurse.

Ralph St Williams said he was prepared to take the matter spiritually if the nurse decides to lie against him.
