Mahama rewards Sikaman-Brofoyedu heroes

YEN.com.gh reported that President John Dramani Mahama extended a heartfelt gesture to 13 residents of Sikaman-Brofoyedu who risked their lives to recover the bodies of victims from the recent military helicopter crash.

The president, through the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, presented a package of GH¢100,000 and announced that each of the men would be offered employment opportunities suited to their skills. The support, according to the government, is a token of gratitude for their bravery and selflessness.

The helicopter tragedy, which occurred in the Dampia Range Forest Reserve, claimed the lives of eight officials, including high-ranking ministers. The swift action of the local farmers ensured that the remains were retrieved and handled with dignity.
