Akyenkwaa Nana’s Arrest: Kevin Taylor Teases Wontumi TV Presenter Amid His Remand in Police Custody

Controversial NDC social media activist Kevin Taylor has reacted to Wontumi TV presenter Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare's ongoing legal battles.

In a recent episode of his With All Due Respect show, the political commentator teased the embattled media personality after he was denied bail during his court appearance on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Kevin Taylor joked that Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare could be transferred to the Nsawam prison to face hardship amid his ongoing court case.
He said:
"They will take you to Nsawam prison. If Hero (Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare) plays carelessly, he will be taken to Nsawam prison. The prison orders will torment you when they take you there."

The NDC activist criticised the Wontumi TV presenter, who is an ardent supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for getting himself arrested over his unsavoury comments.
He also claimed that Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare had been suspended from Wontumi TV and abandoned in prison.
Kevin Taylor also claimed that the embattled media personality had not received immense support from NPP sympathisers who protested in front of the EOCO headquarters to demand Chairman Wontumi's release after he was detained for many days over some allegations about his business practices.
He said:
"Have you seen that when trouble came, they all left you and went home. Why did they not protest your arrest like they did with Chairman Wontumi?"
The NDC activist also mocked Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare for covering his face during his appearance at the court on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Recall that Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare was arrested by suspected national security operatives in Ejisu on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

He was apprehended days after he alleged on live radio that President John Dramani Mahama was responsible for the helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two cabinet ministers, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
Following the presenter's arrest, his employers issued an unreserved apology to President Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the Ghanaian public amid mounting public pressure.
Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare has since been denied bail and remanded in police custody following his appearance at the Accra High Court on multiple occasions. The judge adjourned the case to August 27, when a ruling will be made.

In a video, the individual criticised the NDC government for their alleged crackdown on free speech in the country.
Akyenkwaa Nana's supporter also warned that the government's crackdown on free speech could prevent foreign investors from coming to Ghana.
